The German-Cypriot Youth Exchange Programme was initialised by the Hanover branch of the Socialist Youth of Germany - The Falcons (SJD - Die Falken). The core Cypriot partners are the Greek Cypriot foundation IMKE and the Turkish Cypriot foundation BILBAN. Furthermore, the project is supported by many other different partners and friends.

Falcons

The Socialist Youth of Germany - The Falcons (SJD - Die Falken) were founded around 1904. We are an independent, educational and political voluntary children and youth organization. The Falcons organize camps, political and social campaigns, international youth exchanges and leisure time activities to encourage and empower children and young people for more democracy, social justice, equality and substantial change in society. We provide facilities that children and young people can use to meet, to discuss and to organise activities. Furthermore, some of our branches run youth centres. IKME

IKME - Socio-political Studies Institute - was registered in 2002 in Cyprus as a Non Governmental Organisation aiming to contribute to the prevalence of freedom, democracy, socialism and the European values. Their web presentation can be found under www.ikme.eu.

BILBAN

The socio-political studies institute BILBAN (Knowledge Bank), was founded in 1992 by the initiative of Alpay Durduran. This organization has been registered as an non-profit making institution aiming to contribute to the prevalence of freedom, democracy, socialism and European values. KISA - Action for Equality, Support, Antiracism

KISA is a non-governmental organisation (NGO), established in 1998, and its vision is the promotion of an all-inclusive, multicultural society, free of racism, xenophobia and discrimination and where, through the interaction and mutual respect of diverse cultures, there will be equality and respect for the rights of all, irrespective of race, nationality or ethnicity, colour, creed or beliefs, gender, sexual preference or orientation, age, inability or any other diversity. German-Cypriot Forum

The German-Cypriot Forum (DZF - Deutsch-Zyprisches Forum) wants to support the rapprochement process between Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots and to contribute with its work to a peaceful solution of the Cyprus conflict. More information can be found on their webpage www.dzforum.de.

Friedrich-Ebert Foundation Cyprus

The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung promotes a cooperative dialogue between political decision makers and civil society in Cyprus. H4C- Home for Cooperation

Located in the Nicosia, Cyprus, UN Buffer Zone, the H4C provides a shred space for intercommunal cooperation and dialogue. Hosting a library and archive, conference and exhibition spaces, and offices, the H4C is the first centre in Cyprus to promote the collective efforts of civil society in engaging in historical inquiry, contemporary understanding and peace building. AHDR - Association for Historical Dialogue and Research

Since its foundation in 2003, the AHDR has enlisted members from various ethnic, linguistic, and professional backgrounds working at various educational levels in Cyprus, making the first steps towards a greater effort: an effort to maintain a continuous, open dialogue about enhanced pedagogic practices that could encourage the values of the discipline of history. The AHDR envisions a society where dialogue on issues of history, historiography, history teaching and history learning is welcomed as an integral part of democracy and is considered as a means for the advancement of historical understanding and critical thinking. CCMC - Cyprus Community Media Center

The Cyprus Community Media Centre (CCMC) opened its doors in late 2009, aiming to establish community media in Cyprus and support local organisations and community groups in communicating their message to a wider audience. It does this in many different ways, whether it's training, dedicated support, equipment loan, creating videos, taking photographs, holding public events, setting up online forums or even just being on the end of the phone, offering advice to its members. Committee for Missing People

The bi-communal Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus has been working since 2007 to recover the remains of missing persons and return them to their families. More information can be found on their webpage www.cmp-cyprus.org.

War grave commission Hanover

The war grave commission (Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge e. V.) is a humanitarian organization which is charged by the Federal Republic of taking care of registering the German war dead abroad and to ensuring that it is updated and monitored. The German Public Alliance advises relatives of war grave care, supervises public and private sites, supports international cooperation and assists within the sector of war grave care and fostering the engagement of young people in the last resting-place of the war-dead.
